Minka, Starlight & Remembrance: October News from Eva Tree & Tree Star Health

Dear Reader,

October finds us with the first scent of frost in the air, the turning leaves ablaze with colour, and an invitation to turn our gaze inward.

During our recent Equinox gathering with the Mesa Munay Ayllu (family), we each called three things into our lives. One of mine was movement and dance!

It never ceases to amaze me that when we open our hearts and ask Creator for guidance, we are given precisely what we need, often abundantly so.

I am now three dances into a beautiful movement series led by an extraordinary teacher from Hungary, Sophie Barbarics, and it feels like a deep embrace of parts of myself I have been missing.

What have you been calling into your life this turning season? What new practices are helping you cultivate balance, beauty and aliveness?

Minka — The Power of Collaboration

During one of our movement classes, Sophie shared a reflection that continues to ripple through my body and thoughts:

When we create something, bring it into relationship with others, and exchange our energies, we generate something far greater than we could alone.

This brought me directly to the beautiful Andean principle of Minka (Mink’a) — collective work and community collaboration in service to the greater good.

In many Western communities, we have lost some of this essential art of coming together. Rather than sharing the tending of gardens, harvesting food, building homes and bringing our visions to life, our exchanges have become increasingly transactional.

Minka invites us to remember another way.

Whether volunteering at a women’s centre, protecting our old-growth forests, helping a neighbour harvest, or bringing our collective gifts to a shared vision, Minka reminds us that we flourish together.

Within my Mesa Medicine Bundle teachings, I work with Minka as an energetic intention that amplifies our capacity for collaboration, opening pathways for mutual opportunity, manifestation and flourishing.

It is Ayni — sacred reciprocity — brought into collective action.

And it seems Minka is arriving in my own life in delightful ways!

Community Song Circle — Wednesday, October 14

I have been invited as a guest vocalist for a Community Song Circle at R.A.D. Studio in Nelson, where I look forward to sharing how sound, frequency and vibration can support healing in body, mind and soul.

These warm, inclusive gatherings invite us to explore our voices and experience the joy of singing together. No experience is needed!

When: Wednesdays, 6:30–7:30 PM
Where: R.A.D. Studio, 564 Ward Street, Nelson
Cost: Drop-in, sliding scale $10–$30

If you are curious about the nature-based practices I weave into my work, explore my Voice Alchemy offerings.

I also received a wonderful affirmation of cosmic Minka when an international storyteller I greatly admire, Leah Lamb, reached out to invite me to co-host a Nelson gathering for her upcoming book launch. Of course, I said YES! We are tentatively looking at Monday, November 2, with more details to come. In the meantime, you can explore Leah’s beautiful work.

These unexpected invitations are such lovely reminders of what becomes possible when we open to collaboration.

This is our theme for our upcoming monthly circle, and I warmly invite you to join us!

Remembering Our Ancestors

Another powerful thread weaving through this season is our ongoing exploration of ancestry, lineage and remembrance.

A heartfelt thank-you to Jen Lebedoff for opening meaningful inquiries into our ancestral roots, and for organizing and leading our Songkeepers Choir as we prepare to share our voices at Nelson’s Remember the Dead gathering.

What a beautiful opportunity to honour those who have walked before us through song, art, ceremony and community.

The Stars Within — Go for It With Your Whole Heart!

As I prepare for our upcoming women’s retreat, The Stars Within, Spirit continues to work deeply with me.

Each night, gazing into the twinkling majesty of the Chaska Runa — Star Beings — I feel their wisdom pouring through, infused with wit, humour and luminous, high-vibe energy!

In a recent conversation with my teacher, Master Puma, we explored the star wisdom I have been receiving at a cellular level, along with ancestral teachings about the origins of the Master Plants and their arrival on Earth to help humanity remember unconditional love and Ayni.

As we closed our conversation, Puma offered a clearing blessing with sacred smoke. Then, with a warm and loving smile, he reminded me:

“Eva, when you say yes to something, say yes with your whole heart and your whole being. Go for it with your whole heart!”

Such simple words, yet they illuminated a few hidden nooks and crannies where some dense Hucha dust bunnies had been gathering!

I recognized how fear can quietly hold us back from allowing ourselves to shine as brilliantly as the stars.

And then I remembered… didn’t I write a song about that?

Indeed I did!

I’m delighted to share another song from an album I recorded over 20 years ago, now finding its way back into the light.

What are you saying YES to with your whole heart?

Can we allow our inner starlight to shine even as the northern hemisphere invites us inward, following the wisdom of our beloved Bear Kin into the season of rest and dreaming?

Our Stars Within Women’s Heart Medicine Retreat is now full, and I am deeply excited to gather in this luminous field of remembrance, soul recovery and heart medicine. However, there is still space available for you in

12-Day Women’s Plant Attunement

Perhaps this is the invitation of the season: to turn inward without dimming our light, to remember that our individual gifts are made brighter when shared, and to say YES to life with our whole hearts.

Sending starlight-bright blessings your way.

With Munay,

Eva

Dear Reader, The turning of the season is here and I hope this note finds you well in your heart. Autumn is asking us to slow down and begin to crystallize our intentions and harvest the gifts given from our gardens. Coming home from the coast, where I launched both of my children into their first year of university, means a return to the proverbial empty nest. This feels extremely tender and also potent terrain, and I’m thinking of past TSH themes, where together we have traversed liminal...

White Flower Ceremony

Soul Song & Remembrance : August 2026 Remembrance • Grief & Aliveness • Monthly Circle • Women's Retreat Dear Reader, White Flower Ceremony How are you faring in the intensity of these times? One practice I love, is to give myself the liminal time in the morning to put pen to paper and allow 15 minutes of creative free writing. Within this practice, I have fallen in love with a simple structure of Tanka poetry. The syllable flow is five, seven, five, seven, seven. This simple practice aims to...

Co-Creation : July 2026 Newsletter Dear Reader, I hope this finds you well and enjoying the fullness of summer. A heartfelt thank-you to everyone who joined our monthly gathering. Last month, we explored the living power of Ayni—sacred reciprocity—and how coming into right relationship with ourselves, one another, and the living world can open and illuminate our path. Here is the prayer altar we co-created together. Tending the altar daily with prayers, rattling and song has been a potent...
