February NewsletterWintering, Breath & Crow MedicineDear Reader, I greet you in this time of deep wintering and hope you are tending gently to your body, mind, and spirit. We are living in a time when the veil feels thin. So much shadow—personal and collective—is rising to the surface. The news, the grief, the intensity of the world can easily destabilize us. Now more than ever, we need daily practices that nourish the energy body and strengthen our inner architecture. In the Andes, there is a teaching called Hucha Mikuy — the digestion of heavy energy. It is the art of transforming density into wisdom. Within every challenge, even within our fear or pain, there is gold waiting to be accessed. But transformation requires embodiment. For 28 years, I have been devoted to biodynamic craniosacral therapy because the body is our stabilizing anchor. The body is where truth can be tested. Hand to heart or gut, we can ask:
To become somatically aware is to become deeply trustworthy to yourself and to life. Simple Breath Practice for Clearing & RenewalHere is a gentle technique to cleanse and brighten your energy field:

Let your breath become a conscious exchange throughout the day — an act of bright alchemy. Self-Love in MotionWhen we feel fatigued by grief, anger, or despair, that is precisely when we need movement and nature. Take yourself outside. Place your hands on the Earth. Breathe with a tree. Sing in the shower. Dance in your kitchen. From a shamanic perspective, everything is alive. When we step out of victimhood and into relationship with Pachamama and the elements, we discover we are never alone. Every thousandth of a second, the Earth is holding us. As my teacher Puma says: “Nothing is yours. Everything is for you.” What if everything we are meeting now is for our evolution? Wounds to WingsMy recent Wounds to Wings class explored these teachings through breathwork and voice alchemy — blending somatic awareness with mystical expression, prayer, and transmission. Breath is not only life. It is medicine. Crow MedicineOn a personal note, I am in a deep process of healing old trauma. Places of shock and overwhelm that have lived in my body are finally moving. A new companion has appeared during this time — a crow I have named Q’ichi (“Rainbow” in Quechua), honoring the hidden beauty within black feathers. Q’ichi visits me each morning — a messenger of befriending darkness, listening deeply, and coming into relationship with the ancestors. I invite you to watch a recent video where Q’ichi and I sing together.
February: Pachamama’s MonthIn Peru, February is Pachamama’s month — a time when she is fertile and flowering. Paqos make daily offerings so she will bring abundance. While we winter here in the north, somewhere else the Earth is in bloom. This reminds us that cycles are always turning. I was recently honored to participate in a Pachamama ceremony hosted by Shamans Directory, where I introduced Q’ichi the crow and shared an initiation experience with Raven Radiance.
