April 2026 NewsletterDear Reader, As we move deeper into spring, we are invited into renewal, emergence, and the gentle unfolding of what has been quietly gestating within us. There is a soft courage in this season—a willingness to open, to trust, and to allow new life to take form. Ancestral Healing and the Calling in of GraceIf you are struggling with chronic pain, a new diagnosis, or the return of something you thought had passed, please know—you are not to blame. These experiences can be invitations. Openings. Initiations into deeper awareness. When we meet these moments with presence, we begin to transform resistance into relationship. “The feeling of disconnection and numbness… comes from habitually absenting ourselves from difficult experiences.” — Toko-pa Turner, Belonging What if, instead of pushing away discomfort, we gently turned toward it? Eva’s Ancestor StoryThere is deep medicine in remembering. My grandmother, Elsie, would have been 117 this March. Though I never met her in this lifetime, she has become a powerful guide for me. Through journeying, through grief, and through unexpected moments of connection, she has revealed herself as an ally of light and healing. This relationship has taught me that our ancestors are not gone—they are available, present, and waiting for us to remember. Flowers from Tears is a song full of hope and transformation. It is my deepest prayer that we may all emerge stronger and wiser from our life's trials. Watch/listen (slideshow) on YouTube or listen on Spotify. Ancestral Practice: Listening to the Living FieldWhat I learned through connecting—spiritually, mystically, creatively—with my grandmother is that when I am open to it, she is communicating with me always. As are the many other ancestors who I have welcomed into my ancestor circle. They are all around us. They are everywhere. InquiryWhat project, vision, or dream have you perhaps abandoned or discarded? InvitationFind your ancestor tree. Walk in the forest or on your land with an open heart, and you may be led to a tree that is waiting to be a portal for you. For me, this beautiful tree friend is a yew tree, which holds deep significance as a communicator between the realms and carries potent medicine in its bark, needles, and berries. I first found this tree five years ago when a beloved family member passed away, and I have been working with it ever since. I bring gifts of tobacco, sage, rose petals, whiskey, wine, coffee, or water—depending on which ancestor’s thirst I am meeting. In the Peruvian tradition, the Quechua word for tree is Malki Kuna, which also translates as “ancestor being.” Dear friends, there is no wrong way to pray. It is beautiful to open your heart, ask for support, and offer gifts of love and gratitude to the seen and unseen realms. May this simple practice open new channels of nourishment, vitality, and creativity within you, and may your practice be infused with remembrance and self-love.
